WEEK 2 OF AWESOME

 It is January 21st, and still my blog tour rages on.  Sweet!  Please join me at Brinda Berry's for a very revealing interview.  Okay, not like lingerie revealing.  Mind out of the gutter people!

Today's snippet is set in the world of Tough Girl.  TG is running an errand for her boss, picking up cash from the bank.  Her day is nearly ruined when robbers break in.  But TG is not one to let a few men with guns slow her down:

“I don’t have the codes to the vault,” a manager whimpered.

“Then tell me who does!” Uzi yelled back. His accent was strange, not from Planet Girth.

They’re going too slow, she thought. They’ll never be done by the time the cops get here.

The cops were not an option. Nothing slowed things down more.

TG slipped off her high heels.

One of the bank robbers stood with his back to her, two lines over. TG duck walked until she was directly behind him. She stood and with the full force of her body, plunged the high heel into the man’s neck.

“Aaaaggh.” His hands went to his throat as his gun hit the floor. TG dove down after it, a bullet whizzing by her head and into the man’s arm.

She grabbed the gun, rolled, and stood up. A crowd control trench coat leveled his gun to shoot at her again. She shot first and got him, right in the chest. She clobbered the robber next to her with the butt of her gun, just above where her spiked heel had punctured his throat. He fell to the ground, his eyes open but vacant.

A gun fired. The counter beside her burst into splinters, sending shrapnel into a nearby teller. The shooter stood at the counter at the far end of the bank. TG shot at him and hit his pelvic bone. A scream rose out of the pig mask. She shot again, but there were no bullets left.
