Fun fact, I had bleeding ulcers from the age of 18 to the ripe old age of 24. Pretty exciting. Allow me to describe a bleeding ulcer. You experience sharp pains in your upper abdomen, like icicles jabbing a bruise. Once the food in your belly is completely coated in blood and hardens, the little rocks that used to be meals start to make their way through the rest of your digestive track. Imagine a ball of razor blades traveling through your lower intestine and you're pretty much there. Oh, and to make it even more fun, my stomach always hurt worse when I ate, which is actually rare for ulcers. That's me, special. I've had better times.
However, I've been ulcer free for eleven years. Whoo hoo!!!!

I'll be posting snippets from the book next week as well. I'll be using the weekend to decide which tidbits to include. :)
What about you crazy kids? Anything big planned for the week?
PS - I did not forget my promise of more flash fiction. If it's not up this Friday, it will be up post-Tough Girl blog tour.

Woo hoo! I can't wait. It's going to be awesome! Nothing planned this week except trying to catch up with stuff!
ReplyDeleteHopefully you'll be catching up on some sleep! It sounds like a good long rest is needed. :)
DeleteMake sure you send me the details so I can do a big shout-out for you next week!
ReplyDeleteWill do! Thanks Alex!!!
DeleteAgreed! Must start the publicity campaign :)
ReplyDeleteYour novel is awesome so the only thing you need to worry about is the Ravens getting their butts kicked in Denver next week. :D
ReplyDeleteUgh to ulcers. You were much too young to go thru that. But good for you they're gone!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for your book release!! Super exciting and the cover looks great!
Ulcers - very painful indeed. It is important to take care of your health. Keep well.
ReplyDeleteYou do realize that I now have "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies stuck in my head, right? Thanks. No, really, thanks. It's a good song. Congrats on the upcoming release!!
ReplyDeleteMy great grandma died of bleeding ulcers...fortunately we have advances in medicine! I'm 70% done with "Tough Girl" and can honestly say, you have no need to be nervous. It's a great story! Gritty and sad at times, but you can't help but love Reggie. I'd gladly bring the poor child home with me!
ReplyDeleteSee you on tour!
Hooray for ulcer free!
ReplyDeleteSay, how would you like a shameless plug for Tough Girl on my place next week? Looking for authorly news to share. :)
Good luck on the book launch? Or should I say break a leg like people do for actors before they go on stage? Either way, I'm sure the launch will be great!
ReplyDeleteThose ulcers sound like something right out of Alien. So excited for you now that most of the revising work is behind you and Tough Girl will stand up and speak for herself. Loving what she has to say.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the tour to begin! The ulcer sounds like one giant paper cut in your belly. Yuck!
