I didn't really intend to tell you about my hair. It was supposed to be a one line joke. Oops! Okay. So what has been happening? Well, the hubby and I checked out Raleigh again and we're convinced it is for us. It's small but urban. It's inexpensive yet there's lots to do and lots of cultural events. I love love love DC but the money it costs to live here is crazy.
Also, I'm one step closer to my short story collection release. Altersensor's Broken is officially done. Now, I have to conquer The Two Doctors and get them edited and we will be in business.

I'm nearly done with my first copywriting assignment. Wish me luck. :)
Also, I've been setting aside some blogging time, not just to write but also to read all your wonderful blogs. It still won't be as much as it used to, but I think I've cracked the code to at least visit your blogs twice a week. :)
AND - you can get geared up for a few new Recent Reads I'd Recommend. I've missed those myself. I love talking books. It's kind of my thing.
What about you blogosphere? What have you been up to?
Okay, a photo six years old is WAY too long ago to still be using as a profile pic. Just sayin'. My photo is about a year and a half old and it's already out of date. Cut my hair off completely (it also turned mysteriously darker. Hmmm). Anyway, I'm hoping to get a good picture of me in Wales to use for a new pic when I get back. :))
ReplyDeleteLike the new look of the blog. btw. Fresh, unlike your photo :P
Glad to hear your book is coming along! and please tell us more about your buzz cut!! That seems like it would be quite the hair do on you!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Love the hair cut BTW, and I'm with L. G. that a profile pic 6 years old is way too old! 6 years ago, I had orange hair. It was neon. Then I dyed it back brown and got an emo faux-hawk. Yeah, not so much. I'm so excited about your new collection coming out! Are you rewriting your draft starting from the very beginning, or are you editing/rewriting starting from the older drafts? I don't know if I could start fresh. I think the blank screen would bum me out. Not that I haven't slashed and burned, but there's something about starting with a blob that makes me feel like I'm moving forward, even if I'm just playing with mud.
ReplyDeleteToo many mixed metaphors, and I'm off to bed!
I like your hair! And I like your shoes in the picture too. That's great that you've found a less expensive place that you like. I know what you mean about the necessity of moving; the cost of living is pretty high in Chicago, and I think that if I lived someplace less expensive I'd still be a broke grad student but perhaps not quite as broke. Maybe then I could actually buy the more expensive ramen noodles.
ReplyDeleteLoving the hair, Libbyland! And a move to Raleigh sounds exciting. I'd love to find someplace with that sort of criteria here. I feel you on the expensive. It's exhausting.
ReplyDeleteThe hair looks good! Also, it's good to hear the writing is coming along well. Me, well, I've been too busy lawyerin' and playing babysitter to my wife's immature family members, so I've fallen behind. But next week I should be able to write. And if I don't, you'll read about mass murder being committed in Colorado.
ReplyDeleteSo sad to hear we're going to lose you Libby.... can we do long distance critiques...lol? But it's so true... it's crazy expensive to live in DC. Might be better for the writing too... less distractions. Well, if you need someone to read a draft of the novel, or long distance critique of short stories... feel free to email me... I love your twisted tales.
